Bio cheese feta

Everything that is unique about traditional fetta, can still be enjoyed with this plant-based alternative.I am simply amazed at how well this product replicates the smooth and creamy but firm texture of dairy-based fetta and yet it is entirely plant-based. It breaks apart, has a soft but dense bite to it and still has the same tasty tangy flavour of traditional fetta. I love to use this in salads or even with pasta, particularly pesto-based dishes.

Bio Cheese pizza shred

Bio cheese doesn’t miss, and their plant-based version of shredded pizza cheese is no exception. A common thing with plant-based cheeses is that they cease to melt in the same way that dairy-based cheese does and the certain acidic and rich flavour of such is challenging to replicate. However, after being in the oven for 10 minutes, this cheese was super gooey and stretchy, it had a tasty, cheesy, savoury flavour that could complement any pizza topping without being overpowered. It shows how far plant-based cheese has come over the years and the quality of bio-cheese products. They are both delicious and give consumers the unique cheesy texture that they crave whilst being made entirely from plants.Lor

Bio cheese cheddar shred

This is probably my favourite Bio cheese product I have tried. I used it on nachos, and it certainly delivered everything cheese is supposed to be. The texture was stretchy and gooey like regular cheese, and it melted so well which is usually a flaw in most plant-based cheeses but not this one. It had a delicious savoury, cheesy and bity taste which, importantly, was not easily overpowered by the additional nacho toppings. All of which make Bio cheese my favourite plant-based cheese brand. I can’t wait to use it again as it would be a great plant-based alternative or addition to a lot of dishes that traditionally use dairy-based cheese. The nachos recipe is below.

Bega pizza shreds

Bega is better known for producing traditional
cheese products, I was still willing to try their dairy-free pizza cheese. Overall, not exactly comparable to traditional cheese; the texture was dry and chalky, the flavour tasted artificial and was easily overpowered by the other pizza toppings. I did use this product to make a grilled cheese and felt that the texture and flavour of the product were better suited to this simpler meal. Another flaw is that I had to use a lot of cheese to reach a consistency and flavour that is comparable to dairy-based cheese. But given that Bega is branded around regular cheese it makes sense to not be blown away by a dairy-free
version.

Cheer pizza shred

Despite being known for its traditional cheese products, Cheer’s plant-based pizza cheese didn’t disappoint. This cheese melted well and was gooey and creamy in texture. Although it failed to produce the same stretchiness as regular cheese it had a strong and delicious flavour that was bitey and was not overpowered by the other flavours of the pizza.
